Golf
Rangatira Golf Club - The beautiful Rangatira golf course is built on three levels and has amazing river and cliff views, Its own cable car takes you to the 19th. Rangatira golf club is only 5 km from Rangitikei River Lodge.There are 7 golf courses within 30 min drive of Rangitikei River Bed and Breakfast and a further 10 within an hours drive from Rangitikei River Lodge. We are happy to organise golf packages tailored to your needs by prior arrangement (min 3 night stay max 6 people or 4 couples).
Trout fishing
Just a wee stroll to fish for trout from the lodge in the Rangitikei River. By prior arrangement we can organise, for the more ambitious fisherman, heli-fishing or jet boat to the upper reaches of the Rangitikei. We can organise fishing guides as well.
Hunting
(riding to hounds)In the hunting season April - July we at Rangitikei River Lodge by prior arrangement we can organise great hunting. We are in the heart of the Rangitikei hunt district but there are 4 other hunts within an hours drive.
Skiing
Rangitikei River Lodge is an hour's drive to the Turoa ski fields by car and 10 min by helicopter; booking by prior arrangement.
Walks
Very pleasant walks on the property of Rangitikei River Lodge, also for those wanting more of a challenge there are several walks within 30 min drive, and of course the great 6-8 hour Tongoriro Crossing, an hours drive or 10 min by helicopter (by prior arrangement)
Helicopter tours
Helicopter tours are available from the lodge to Hawkes Bay, Waiararapa wineries and to isolated trout streams for the keen fisherman.
